Roadmap for Establishing Interoperability of Heterogeneous Cellular Network Technologies -1-

چکیده
The lack of interoperability between cellular access networks has long been a challenging burden, which telecommunication engineers and researchers are trying to overcome. In second generation networks for example, this problem lies in the lack of standardization. 3 G networks is limited to a few operating modes using different radio transmission technologies that are not interoperable. 4G technology even being successful in its various trials cannot guarantee interoperability. The undertaken approach to overcome this issue within heterogeneous networks begins by establishing a holistic understanding of cellular communication, and proposing an Ontological approach that expresses the domain’s concepts, classes, and properties in a formal and unambiguous way. It begins by analyzing the structure of three different cellular technologies, and producing feature models. Lte-Advanced cellular network is the target of this ongoing analysis. The final objective sought is to build Ontology capable of providing a common view of cellular network technologies’ domain.

Ontology based Interoperability Approach for Heterogeneous Mobile Cellular Network
Interoperability issues between heterogeneous networks generations begin by establishing a holistic understanding of cellular communication systems (a starting point for interoperability improvements). To fulfill what already mentioned, we propose an ontological approach that expresses the cellular communication systems’ concepts, classes, and properties in a formal and unambiguous way [1]. Thi...

The lack of interoperability between mobile cellular access networks has long been a challenging obstacle, which telecommunication engineering is trying to overcome. In second generation networks for example, this problem lies in the fact that there are multiple standards. Each of these standards can operate in the same frequency range. However, each utilizes a different Radio Technology and Mo...
متن کاملAn efficient non-repudiation billing protocol in heterogeneous 3G-WLAN networks
The wireless communication with delivering variety of services to users is growing rapidly in recent years. The third generation of cellular networks (3G), and local wireless networks (WLAN) are the two widely used technologies in wireless networks. 3G networks have the capability of covering a vast area; while, WLAN networks provide higher transmission rates with less coverage. Since the two n...

It is expected that Next Generation Networks (NGNs) will offer seamless interoperability among heterogeneous access technologies in order to provide ubiquitous access. In such settings, short range technologies may be used in order to extend the coverage area of cellular systems while cooperative diversity can improve the efficiency of the wireless systems. An advanced, backward compatible, wit...
